Bommai Chatram opens in Mylapore

The world famous Bommai Chatram exhibition that opens once a year

during the Panguni Uthiram festival of Sri Kapaleeswarar temple was

inaugurated by the trustees of the Sri Vyasarpadi Vinayaka Mudaliar

Charitable Trust in South Mada Street in Mylapore on Mar 18.

The antique heritage exhibition consisting of century old dolls and rare

Tanjore paintings among others is open to public from Mar 18 to 25.

There is no admission fee and there is annadhanam every day at the

premises on the occasion of the festival.

Swaminathan founder-trustee, K Bhaskar, founder-trustee, S

Kamalakannan, A Sundaresan and R Sampath, trustees are making all

arrangements for the successful conduct of the exhibition which

attracts visitors not only from all over Chennai but from Tamil Nadu and

neighbouring states as well. There were annadhanam to thousands of

people every day during the festival.
