Drone over Russian Consulate in Santhome

The Mylapore police have detained a man who flew

a drone near the Consulate General of the Russian

Federation on Santhome Main Road last week

Inquiries revealed that the detained man was

a videographer shooting a marriage function at a

school in Santhome.

Siva, a policeman on guard duty at the Consulate,

spotted the drone flying above the high-security

premises. He informed the sub-inspector of police

Akilan.

The police team traced the drone and seized it. The

Navy Air 25 drone was used by the videographer R

Gokul. 23, of Kalpakkam to film the marriage at the

CSI Higher Secondary School for the Deaf at

Santhome

During questioning, he told the police that he lost

control of the drone. He informed police that he

was unaware of the Consulate General of the

Russian Federation office at Santhome.

The Mylapore police team seized the drone. They

have also taken an undertaking from Gokul and

asked him to collect the equipment later.
