IAF to hold air show Oct 6

The Tambaram Air Force Station is all set to host the National

Air Force Day parade this year at the Marina on Oct 6

Set to be a visual treat to the residents of Chennai, the Indian

Air Force (IAF) is putting together an impressive air show to

enthrall the crowds on the Marina beach.

Combat aircraft including Sukhoi Su-30 MKI and Tejas, transport

aircraft and aerobatic teams such as Surya Kiran and Sarang are

among those expected to be part of the grand air show, first of

its kind to be held in Chennai.

The air show is expected to commence at 11 AM and likely to

go on for two hours. A rehearsal is planned on Oct 4.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defense Staff Gen

Anil Chauhan are among those expected to take part in the

parade scheduled in the Tambaram Air Force Station on Oct 8.

For the first time, the national-level parade is being hosted in

Chennai.

The Air Force has been hosting the event outside of New Delhi

for the past few years. Chandigarh and Prayag Raj in Uttar

Pradesh had hosted similar parades in the last two years. The

City Police have made elaborate traffic arrangement for the

people to view the air show.
