Krithikaa Mandala Veda Parayanam

The Mylapore Veda Adhyayana Sabha founded by Maha Periyava His

Holiness Jagadguru of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam 70 years ago and

located at 22, Pichu Pillai Street near Kapaleeswarar temple in

Mylapore is conducting Krithikaa Mandala Veda Parayanam between

Nov 17 to Dec 30 - 5 PM to 6 PM.

This is the 35th year that the Sabha has been conducting the

Parayanam continuously. Over a period of 44 days, about 30 invited

Ganapadigals chant Veda at the Sabha premises.

The group chanting of the Vedas during the period generates positive

vibrations that bring benefits to the entire Universe (Samasta Loka

Sukino Bavanthu).

It is important to continue the tradition of chanting Vedas not only to

preserve and protect the knowledge but also to pass it on to the next

generation as Vedas form the basis of Sanatana Dharma, which is the

root of our culture.

The Sabha has estimated that cost per day to conduct the parayanam

mainly consisting of Sambhaavanai to be Rs.10, 000. It has made an

earnest appeal to devotees to sponsor a day's Parayanam on the day of

their choice such as birth days, marriage days, birth or death

anniversaries of parents or loved ones. The family members will be

invited on that day and will receive the blessings of the Veda pundits

and the Almighty.
