MLA Velu pats school toppers, rewards them

Mylapore MLA Dha Velu gave away prizes to school

toppers and scholarship to deserving students to

commemorate the birth centenary of former Tamil Nadu

Chief Minister the late M Karunanidhi at a function held

in Mylapore last week.

He also honored school teachers who produced the rank

holders and heaped praise on the contribution of

teachers and their dedication to the society.

He gave cash prize to Mylapore School Toppers in 12 th

and 10 th standard public examinations School toppers

– 12 th standard first prize Rs 5,000, second price Rs 4,000

and third prize Rs 3000. They were also given school bags

as compliments.

The school topper in 10 th standard first place received Rs

3000 second prize Rs 2500 and third prize Rs 2000 with

School bags. Total cash awards distributed is worth

around Rs 15 lakhs.

Velu in his address urged the students not to get

distracted and concentrate on their studies. He said

nothing is more important than studies at this point of

time and urged them to seek the help of experienced

teachers in shaping their career. Party functionary D
