Ranjani, Gayathri excel in concert

Ranjani and Gayathri popularly known as Raga sisters did

an exemplary performance at the music concert

organized by Brahma Gana Sabha at the RR Sabha

auditorium on Dec 30.

The concert witnessed a hall full of audience with rasikas

seated in dais as well. The concert commenced with a

rich Muthuswami Dikshitar krithi in the Raagam

Boopalam.

The duo also sang kritis by Spencer Venugopal, Mysore

Vasudevacharya, Saint Thyagaraja and a Tamil

composition by Papanasam Sivan that mesmerized the

audience.

They rendered a Swathi Thirunal Malayalam krithi

Kulirmadivadane in raga alapana which was mind

blowing. Ranjani enjoyed and appreciated the raga

alapana done by Gayathri.

Raagam thaanam Pallavi was sung in Sindubairavi

The concert concluded with a Namdev Abhang deha

zaavo. The audience gave a standing ovation to the

renowned sisters.
