Sri Vellieswarar temple Vaikasi Peruvizha from May 13

Vaikasi Peruvizha is being celebrated in a grand manner

between May 13 and June 3 at the Vellieswarar temple run by

Thiru Mylai Sengunthar Maha Sabha and located at 30 South

Mada Street, Mylapore.

The festival starts on May 13 at 7 PM with Putru Mann and

Sandaswarar veedhi ula followed by Selva Vinayagar utsavam

on Mooshika vahanam purrapadu.

On May 14, there will be flag hoisting at the temple and

Pazhavakkal vimanam at 8 am followed by Kuruntha

Virutchathadiyil Sukrar Siva pooja katchi at 9 PM. On May 15,

there will be Soorya Vattam and Chandra Vattam and swan and

parrot vahanam at 9 15 AM and 8 30 PM respectively.

On May 16 the famous Adikara Nandhi with Kandrauvi and

Kandaruvan, Mooshika vaganam followed by Bootha vahanam

procession at 8 30 PM

On May 17, there will be Purusha Mirugam Lord Shiva on lion

and tiger vahana procession at 8 AM and Naga vahanam and

Aadu vahanam at 8 30 PM

On May 18, there will be Savudal vimanam at 8 AM followed by

Silver Rishaba Vahanam Velli Vidai Peruvizha at 9 PM

On May 19 there will be Pallakku vizha at 8 AM and

Sankabhiskekam at 4 PM and Pancha Moorthigal urchavam and

Yanai vahanam at 9 30 PM

On May 20 there will be chariot festival Thiru Ther at 7 AM and

Lord Vellieswarar idol will be taken in a procession from the

chariot and Panchamurthy festival at 8 PM

On May 21 there will be Thiru Muzhukku at 11 AM and Sukra

Begawan getting the eyes festival from Lord Vellieswarar in the

presence of Brahma Vishnu and all devathathas 2 30 PM.

On May 22 there will be Panchamurthy utsavam in the morning

and Bikshadanar kola vizha at 6 30 PM.

On May 23 there will be Sri Natarajan thiru katchi at 5 30 AM

followed by celestial marriage Thirukalyanam Vaibhavam

between Lord Valleeswaran and Goddess Kamakshi Devi and

Kailaya vahanam. On May 24 there will be Vishwaroopa

darshan at 7 AM and Pandam Peruvizha at 730 PM. On May 25

there will be urchavar santhi 108 Sankabhiskekam followed by

Vidayatri vizha in the evening
